Continuing our in-depth look at the Sun Salutation sequence, we move to the second pose, raised arms pose – urdhva hastasana. The thing that helps me out the most in this pose is remembering that it’s not all about stretching upward. The lower part of the body and the shoulders especially move down to provide a solid foundation. People with tight shoulders may prefer to keep their upraised arms apart instead of bringing the palms to touch.
