Dan Buchanan was an unassuming homebuilder with a penchant for flat track motorcycle racing and hang gliding. He was working toward earning his private pilots license when in 1981 a crash landing paralyzed him from the waist down. Never one to give up on his passion, Buchanan refused to let his handicap change his high-flying dreams.




“The thought of stopping what I loved because of my injury never crossed my mind,” he said. “I didn’t see any reason I couldn’t carry on as planned.”
