There is much debate about the human-induced climate change these days. Climate is defined as the accumulation and average of weather data for 30 years. Does climate change really advance through the years? Many scientists believe so based on their findings and research. Humans and their activities bring about the change.

With these recent developments, many companies and even the government are turning to green technologies to counter the possible adverse effects of changing climate. For instance, in fleet management, many companies are now choosing green technologies to fuel or power their vehicles. Fleet management is very important in any industries. It has the potential of the following benefits:

  • Maximizing the satisfaction of the driver allowing them to do better job

  • Increasing the profitability of the company

  • Improving the management of the fuel for the fleet

  • Retaining and gaining more clients

These benefits are still achievable even if the fleet management opts for greener solution and technologies.

Consider this example: the United Kingdom government aims to increase the percentage of cutting carbon dioxide release in the air by 70% by 2030 and increase further to 90% by 2050 from the current 60% level. Based on their studies, the current level is not enough to reduce the carbon dioxide level in the air today. The reduction of carbon dioxide emission and level in the atmosphere was proposed during and established from Kyoto Protocol in 1992. As part of this agenda, the government will place emphasis on the use of hydrogen and biofuels and this will have impact for those with vehicles. Hence, many of the fleet managers and companies will make every effort to comply with this demand because there will be increased pressured to them to minimize the potential impact of the operations of their fleet on the environment. Indeed, there are some fleet managers who started measures in addressing the issue of environment. However, in the corporate world, this will take time.

While the corporate world places little attention to this demand, fleet managers are making progress in placing emphasis on greener technologies for their vehicles. Thanks to science and technology, there are modern vehicles that are constructed to accommodate cleaner technologies and being powered by alternative fuels. There are many options when it comes to enhancing the environmental performances of their fleet by using Fleetmatics as an option.

Bear in mind that a company simply utilizes what the environment offered them. It is their duty as well as giving back positively to the environment and it is possible through green fleet. What is this green fleet? This is a measure to reduce the negative impact to the environment through reduction of fuel consumption, minimizing the emission of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. This can be achieved in summary through maximizing the efficacy of the existing fleet, reduction of vehicle utilization and placing emphasis of the choice of vehicle technology and fuels. Doing the green fleet is not just a onetime event; it is a continuous event with further improvements. There will be more and more improvements that will take place in the future, but the aim must stand and this is to protect environment with the actions that will be taken today so the future generation will have a place to live safely.

Just as it’s important for you to be extra diligent when choosing a family doctor, so should you be extra diligent in using your doctor’s services. If you have small children, you probably take them for regular checkups. You might even get reminders at the beginning of the school year to update their immunization records, and make sure they’re in good shape to return to school. However, chances are you don’t get as many regular checkups yourself, and if you have teens, they are probably not going as regularly either. In fact, one-third of teens do not get regular checkups.

Even if you all seem healthy, it’s important to have regular preventative checkups. Thanks to recent healthcare reform, all insurance plans must cover 100 percent of the cost of preventative checkups, without charging you copay. If you are currently not insured, you can purchase a plan through your state’s marketplace or from an independent broker for companies like USHealth Group Private.

Why Preventative Care is Important

Preventative care, also known as wellness visits, can help your doctor detect potential problems before they become serious.

For example, hypertension is known as the silent killer because it often has no signs or symptoms but, if left untreated, could cause heart disease or stroke. In fact, many patients don’t realize they have high blood pressure until their doctor detects it during an exam.

Types of Preventative Screening

The type of preventative screening you should get depends on your age and gender.

Teens

Kid’s Health recommends your teen have yearly meetings with his doctor to track any physical or mental changes in your child and to provide information on issues that teens might face including:

·  Sex and sexually transmitted diseases;

·  Diet and nutrition;

·  Smoking, drinking and other unhealthy behaviors.

They also recommend that your teen should have at least three complete physical examinations between the ages of 11 and 21. If he has a medical condition, such as juvenile diabetes, he should have a complete physical more often. A complete physical could include:

·  A physical examination including checking the lymph nodes and reflexes;

·  Vital sign screening including breathing, blood pressure, and heart;

·  A standard blood panel, including cholesterol and blood sugar screening;

·  Urinalysis to screen for possible medical issues;

·  A tuberculin test;

·  Scoliosis screening; and,

·  Screening for obesity and eating disorders.

In addition to regular medical checkups, your teen should also have regular dental visits to check for tooth decay, normal tooth development, and any other dental issues, as well as regular vision and hearing screening.

After puberty, teen girls should also have regular gynecological examinations.

Adults

Adults should have many of the same screening tests as teens including:

·  A physical examination including checking the lymph nodes and reflexes;

·  Vital sign screening including breathing, blood pressure, and heart;

·  A standard blood panel, including cholesterol and blood sugar screening;

·  Urinalysis to screen for possible medical issues; and,

·  Gynecological examinations for women.

However, as we age, there are additional tests that need to be done. Not only are these tests age specific, they are also gender specific.

Men

After age 50, the yearly physical should include screening for prostate cancer and colorectal cancer. If you have a strong family history of either type of cancer, your doctor could recommend that you start younger.

Everyday Health also recommends that smokers, or former smokers, get screened for abdominal aneurisms. If you have a family history of aneurisms, or blood vessel anomalies, consider getting screened sooner.

Women

You should have your first mammogram at age 40, and continue having them every one to two years. If you have a strong family history of breast cancer, your doctor could recommend that you start younger.

Like the men, you should start colorectal cancer screening at age 50, unless you have a strong family history – in which case you would start earlier.

At age 65 you should also have a bone density test, which will screen for osteoporosis. If you have more than one risk factor for osteoporosis, you doctor could recommend that you start younger.

Hygiene matters to women for a variety of reasons. However, hygiene for a man reaches beyond his personal hygiene that is only obvious when someone is standing right next to him. A man’s personal hygiene affects the lady that he is with when they are on the town, at a private party or alone at home. Each of these reasons why hygiene matters should be taken very seriously by the gentleman.

A Man’s Hygiene Makes Him Approachable

When gentlemen are taking care of themselves and appear to be fresh and clean, they look more approachable to women. While there are reasons why humans have a natural scent, that natural scent tends to be overpowering. The gentleman who works with his natural scent and keeps himself fresh and clean will have more success simply meeting and talking to women.

A Man’s Hygiene Makes Him Easier to Talk To

Gentlemen who take care of their personal hygiene are more likely to carry on long conversations with women because their breath is fresher and their natural scent is more pleasant. Ladies do enjoy a man who smells good, but the man who knows he smells good and has good teeth is going to be more confident and more fun.

A Man Gets a Wardrobe Assist

Many gentlemen who have great hygiene and smell great are also likely to dress well. The gentleman could shop anywhere from Reem to a boutique around the corner, but he is more likely to dress well when he knows that he looks and smells good. A man’s wardrobe makes women interested because clothes are typically of great concern to women. Plus, a gentleman who dresses well looks as if he takes care of himself and is, again, more approachable.

Hair Is Important

While gentlemen may find that they do not need to have their hair cut or styled all that often, they do need to take care to have their hair looking good at all times. A man with a fresh hair style looks more approachable and allows women to think that he will also smell good and have good hygiene. Women can make these determinations from across the room, and the gentleman must work hard to make a good first impression.

Nails

Men should invest in manicures to show women that they take care of themselves. The occasional manicure can help a gentleman to look as if he is taking care of himself. Plus, it adds a gentle touch at the end of a date.

Using all of these items to help make the man for attractive and approachable will lead to more success in dating and relationships.

Researchers in the US are saying that there is more to heart health than just good diet and nutrition. They are now saying specifically that the wellness and wellbeing of your heart is explicitly linked to whether or not you eat breakfast in the mornings.

It has often been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and now researchers seem to have found evidence to back up this claim, following their study of over 27,000 men. The team from Harvard School of Public Health said that the results of the study showed that men who skipped breakfast were more likely to have problems with their heart health. The team believes that missing breakfast puts extra strain on the heart. The British Heart Foundation also backed up this research, saying that skipping breakfast is likely to make people eat sugary snacks before lunch to compensate instead, and these are very detrimental to heart health.

The men in the study were aged between 45 and 82 and were studied over a period of 16 years. In the group of 27,000 over this period of time there were over 1,500 fatal cases of heart failure or heart attacks.

People who skipped breakfast were found to be 27 percent more likely to suffer from some type of heart problem than those who started each day with a healthy, balanced meal. The results were all adjusted to take into consideration other factors such as exercise and smoking.

Researchers say that the message that people should gain from the study is that it is very important to eat food in the morning, and that it should preferably be within an hour of waking up. Although the results show that eating something is better than eating nothing, it is also better if this breakfast meal is healthy and balanced.
