A real issue for ladies going through menopause can be hot flashes. They’re disruptive and there aren’t any totally reliable ways of countering them completely. Hormone therapies work for some but not all and certain ladies are advised against these anyway as they can interfere with pre-existing conditions and potentially cause damage.
Researchers in Sweden say that they’ve found a cheap, non-invasive and potentially life-altering solution which could cut the number of hot flashes suffered by ladies in half, if not decreasing it by more. The method is simple and is actually a technique which has been adopted for the treatment and therapy of various different disorders. It’s a relaxation technique that’s caused such a stir.
A study was done involving ladies who suffered a moderate amount of or many hot flashes every day. Half of those involved were shown the technique and half weren’t. Those who had been had their number of occurrences drop from eight or nine a day to just three or four. The researchers are hoping that their findings will go on to be used as a form of primary care for ladies trying to combat hot flashes as it certainly worked for those in the study.
It wasn’t a massive surprise to researchers that this technique was so effective. Relaxation methods have been taught to sufferers of a wide variety of diseases and they’ve proven effective in most cases. It just goes to show that coming at something with a cool head doesn’t just lead to a better result, it’s better for you too!
