Golfers known as the ‘Riverside Rascals’ have raised almost $10,000 for the Cancer Council.

The ‘Riverside rascals’ play at Riverside Oaks Golf Course, Cattai and raised the money through a charity golf day on  February 10 to help research into pancreatic cancer. A presentation was made to the Cancer Council on March 8.

The event was held in honour of a beloved ‘Riverside rascal’ , Ronnie Eaton, who died on February 10, 2013 – within seven weeks of his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.

The charity golf day was organised on the anniversary of his death.

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of any cancer, including breast, prostate or brain cancers.

The ‘Rascals’ club wanted to celebrate Ronnie’s life and raise awareness of the disease and support another ‘Rascal’  who has recently been diagnosed.
