She is known for portraying outgoing and expressive characters on-screen but actress Shraddha Kapoor said that in real life she is a reserved person.

The 26-year-old actress made lukewarm debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s Teen Patti in 2010 but she got fame two years back with her stint as a budding singer in Aashiqui 2, opposite rumoured boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur.

Shraddha, however, feels that fame has not changed her reserved-self much and she becomes a bundle of nerves whenever she is in public eye.

“I am a shy person in real life. I am not very social person. The only people I open up to are my family and close friends. Over the years, I have become more vocal but at the core I am a reserved girl. Many a times I think that I should change myself and become more expressive. People keep telling me to be a certain way as I am an actor but if I don’t have anything to say I can’t. I come out as a shy, nervous person and a little out of place because I need time and my space to become comfortable with someone,” Shraddha told PTI.

The Ek Villain star said that feels lucky that all those people in the industry whom she wanted to go up to and speak to, recognised her because of her work.

The finest example of this was her recent meeting with Mr Bachchan. “I am much more comfortable around Mr Bachchan now. We met at Piku‘s success bash and he met me so warmly. It was amazing. Back when I did Teen Patti, I was so nervous to face him,” she said.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan led the celebrity roll call of A-List stars as she graced the red carpet at the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala held at the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cannes on May 21.

The other high profile guests at the star-studded event included supermodels Irina Shayk, Toni Garrn, Doutzen Kroes and Laura Stone, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, British actress Sienna Miller and French star Marion Cotillard among others.

Fetching in a mauve Elie Saab gown, Ash completed her look with diamond jewellery and her hair styled in soft waves.

Conspicuous by his absence was her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, who usually escorts her to the event each year. He had tweeted earlier

Unfortunately due to work commitments I can’t attend the AMFAR gala today. But the better half is there to represent.

Aishwarya has been at Cannes for several days for her promotional duties as a L’Oreal Paris ambassador. This is her 14th year at Cannes.

The actress who is a big draw at the festival, picked a white Ralph & Russo dress for her previous red carpet look on Wednesday. Her first, on May 17, was in a teal gown, again by Elie Saab and turned the fashion police upon her. She redeemed herself somewhat with a claret Oscar de la Renta gown at the launch of her comeback film Jazbaa on May 19.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who plays actress Deepika Padukone’s demanding father in Piku lives in his character even between shots, as seen in this behind-the-scenes look at what went down on the sets of director Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming film.

The film’s official Facebook page offers a glimpse at ‘the crazy fun’ behind the cameras with Amitabh Bachchan, a few days after it released a similar video on Deepika’s crazy side and what she did in between takes for the film.

The video shows Mr Bachchan’s entertaining side while taking a breather between shots. But the cantankerous and curmudgeonly hypochondriac with chronic indigestion is seen giving a piece of his mind to one of the crew members, who demands silence on the sets of the film and says “Who is talking? And don’t move” (apparently it was Amitabh Bachchan moving around). Big B responds with “Main baat kara raha hoon yaar. Tu kaan se kanpatti toh nikaal”.

He also speaks to a crew member about being a true artist and a ‘spoilt actor’ who can even exercise the liberty of leaving the sets if he wishes to. In another instance, Big B authoritatively says “Final decision. End of discussion”.

From running around with his pot-belly, dancing and singing, to speaking in Bengali accent with utter perfection, Mr Bachchan makes the whole atmosphere on the sets very lively and entertaining. The actor also breaks dead silence on the sets with the dialogue “Itna sannata kyun hai bhai?”.

Mr Bachchan’s potent presence and hilarious conversations with the crew in the video reveal the 72-year-old actor’s rather crazy side as promised by the makers.

The video also shows Mr Bachchan’s sincerity towards his work, where he is seen saying “Don’t worry. Kaam nai khatam hoga toh raat bhar kaam karega”.

Towards the end of the video, Big B leaves everyone in splits as he goes on to say “We are mad people. We are making a mad film. Please understand this carefully”.

Piku, which revolves around a father-daughter relationship, is shot extensively in Kolkata and Delhi. The film also stars Irrfan Khan and Moushumi Chatterjee.

Piku is set to release on May 8.

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra says it would be wonderful to manage a casting coup of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in one frame, especially in an English film for the global audience. (Also Read: Haven’t Thought of Making Broken Horses in Hindi: Vidhu Vinod Chopra)

The filmmaker, along with the two actors, was present at the trailer launch of his debut Hollywood project Broken Horses here on Tuesday.

“It will be wonderful to work with Mr Bachchan and Aamir Khan in an English language film for the world audience. Let’s aim for that,” Mr Chopra said.

So far, Big B and Aamir have not worked together on screen. However, Big B was the narrator for Aamir’s film Lagaan.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan is giving away the secret of his success free on Twitter, for anyone who cares to read. (Also Read: Amitabh Bachchan’s Special Day. And it Has Nothing to do With Cricket)

It is this:

T 1772 – ;There are two rules for success Never reveal everything you know pic.twitter.com/6efI3fv9iR

- Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) February 17, 2015

Rule #2? Read his tweet again. Get it? Joke.

Had it not been a joke, it’s unlikely that India’s biggest star could offer a formula of any sort to succeed. It wasn’t because he followed rules that the shipping executive with Bollywood dreams eventually became a national treasure – it was because he broke them.

In his very first film Saat Hindustani (1969), the young Amitabh Bachchan played not a romantic hero but a nationalist poet in the backdrop of the liberation of Goa from Portuguese rule. His fourth film (if you count a bit part in Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal’s Bombay Talkie) was 1971′s Parwana, in which he murdered the father of the woman he loved and tried to frame her boyfriend. Two films later, he played another gun-toting killer in Reshma Aur Shera. In 1973′s Bandhe Haath, he plays a thief contemplating murder. Even the film that made him a superstar had him on the wrong side of the law – 1975′s Deewar in which he played the smuggler brother of a honest cop.

Until Shah Rukh Khan came along decades later, Amitabh Bachchan was that rarest of Bollywood species – an actor who broke stereotype, the anti-hero who became an uber-hero.

For many years now, Mr Bachchan has been able to choose any role he likes – good, bad or ugly – secure in the knowledge that no matter what shade of grey he might happen to portray on screen, his status as Shahenshah of the people would go unchallenged. That’s a benediction hard to come by for most actors. And there are no rules to achieving it.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in this month’s Shamitabh and has Piku and Wazir coming up later this year.

“He was born just the other day,” reminisced Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan as his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan turned 39 today.

“The birthday has been brought in and Abhishek is another year older, 39 years, strange but he was born just the other day, and the euphoria and the champagne opening at the Breach Candy Hospital, the traditional cigar smoked, general joy and celebration,” the actor posted on his official blog srbachchan.tumblr.com .

Following in his father’s footsteps, Abhishek forayed into the world of Hindi cinema with Refugee in 2000 opposite actress Kareena Kapoor.

The 72-year-old, who has starred with his son in movies such as Bunty Aur Babli, Paa and Sarkar, also thanked Abhishek’s well-wishers on Twitter.

After delivering notable performances in films like Dhoom, Bol Bachchan, Guru and Happy New Year, Abhishek is also supporting sports like kabaddi and football.
